It seems like just a few brief months since we were attending launches of vans with Euro 4 engines. Yet already we are starting to see Euro 5 emissions compliant motors making an appearance, in advance of the legislation that comes into force in October.
The good news for operators is that, despite an inevitable rising of purchase costs in some cases, Euro 5 engine promise more performance for less fuel used, which in turn results in lower emissions. For once going green need not cost you more.
While yet more European legislation may not be high on your list of fleet requirements in the present business climate. Surely anything that can cut running costs has to be good news.
